City of Santa Clarita Program Overview

Beginning April 1, 2021, the City of Santa Clarita (City) is launching the Santa Clarita COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program (Program) to provide financial relief to low- to moderate-income residential households unable to pay rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Using a one-time grant provided by the U.S. Department of Treasury, the City is delivering critical assistance to those within our community at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

The Program provides assistance for up to four full months of rental arrears, contingent upon funding availability. Payment is made directly to landlords on behalf of eligible tenants.

Depending upon the availability of funds, the Program may be expanded to include additional assistance. Interested parties are encouraged to check this webpage for Program updates.

Households are required to submit a fully complete tenant application, with all necessary documentation to confirm eligibility. Follow the Tenant Checklist to ensure you have everything you need to successfully apply. The deadline to submit an application is April 30, 2021.
